Red White and Boom Half Marathon

July 4, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Tyler and Nicole were running the Red White and Boom Half today so I decided I would use my long run to cheer them on. Woke up at 5:45 and was out the door by 6:20 to meet them at 3.5 mile mark (Marshall and Lowry). This is where the thunderstorm started and torrential rain came down for about 30 mins. I was completely soaked. From there I ran down Lowry, and North on Central to St Anthony Parkway. Caught them there after running around the golf course for about a mile searching for a porta-deucer. Found one just in time. Ran back down Central to Lowry, went east to Cleveland Ave and caught them there. Back down Lowry again, south on Central to 18th Ave NE and caught them there for the 4th time. Finally I had a leisurely cruise down Central Ave to meet them at the finish by Stone Arch park. Congratulated them and trotted back home.

Mega-sore from yoga yesterday. Mostly in my back and shoulders. Sheesh. Kind of nice that it's 8:30AM and I already have 13.5 in for the day. Feet are a bit sore because I was moseying around all morning with soaked shoes and socks. I stopped three times, took my shoes off and rung my socks out. It helped some to soak water away from the shoes, but stepping in another puddle was inevitable.
