RACE REFLECTION

September 4, 2008 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Okay so the meet was REALLY REALLY fun. We were all team spirited and I love to cheer on my team-mates (sp?) But the whole time I was really nervous because I knew I just felt like my physical energy wasn't there.

When the race started I was trying really hard to keep up with Kerrie so I could stay on varsity and have something to focus on because I felt like I was going to collapse.

After I wasn't able to keep up with her anymore which was around the middle of mile 2 I felt totally hopeless. I just wanted to finish but then I was afraid to see my time and didn't think I could even sprint to save my life.

I stepped in some weird pot-hole thingy and then my knee started to bother me. And then I was annoyed at myself for letting it get to me. It's not like it was severe pain, and I'm pretty much used to ignoring it because it usually bothers me just a tiny bit when I run. But I kept dwelling on it. And how my time was going to suck.

So I guess my problems were my negative attitude throughout the race and not much energy..and me dwelling on my freakish knee. I actually don't even know what my time was. It was 25 something but that number is enough to make me sad about it.

So I'm really excited for Silverwood so I can do better. I really want to break my PR from last season (23:59). I'm thinking I can at Silverwood because there and Bob Firman I got 23:59. And Silverwood's such a quick race. I think it's the perfect time for me to get a new PR, and the air is so fresh up in Couer d' alene. And I'm going to bring face paint (if that's ok)! But not hairspray again..someone reminded me that airsol (sp)sprays are bad for the enviornment.
