A1s-A2s (24x200m)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: warm; great for just sittin'

Comments:
Ran 40 minutes before practice then 20 minutes with the team.

Did 24x200m on the grass in this fashion: 12x200 at A1 with 5 seconds rest (hit about 45 on all of them, staying comfortable and working on form, form, form), 4 minute set break then 8x200 at about A1 with 15 seconds between (hit 45 for most, staying comfortable again) (supposed to be A2s); 4 minute set break then 4x200 in about 40 seconds with 30 seconds rest between (focused on form still, but went a bit further than comfortable). Got a little less rest than the others because I was goin a little slower. Each one was about 4 seconds longer than 200m, so the times don't mean much.

Ran for about 35 to 40 minutes afterwards. Ran the final 3 miles at a decent pace, 6:45s to 7:00s. Felt beat-up in the final two miles. Hard swim after.

Goals for this week:
(1) Really hammer the A1s on Wednesday.
(2) Quicken training pace. This means all the time--warm-up, cool-down, and long run included (I'd like to average 7:10 pace for my long run this week). I'd like to work on hitting 7:10 pace at all times. This means I'll probably come off as a jerk who just wants to run faster than the group all the time. Oh well.
(3)Push the post-run swims. I've been pretty good about this, but I'd like to continue focusing on really hammering these.
(4)Push the A3s (on Friday?) and do fast strides on the track twice this week (tues and thurs, probably).
(5) I want mileage to fall around 105. It'll be tough to get this when focusing on quickening the pace, but who wants to do anything easy anyways?
