... in which a tiny dog bites my butt...

September 19, 2008 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: sunny but okay 70 F

Comments:
I ran with Michelle today. We ran our normal 8 mile loop (I cut off a bit at the top, but bear with me...).
We turned up Cedar and onto Coventry. About 1.8 miles in, we encounter a bit of a traffic jam: there's some annoying kids blocking the left side of the sidewalk (smoking, too... grrr) and a lady walking her tiny dog on the right. So Michelle and I decided to squeeze through the middle. Since we were trying to stay together and I'm the slower of us, she let me go first. So I squeeze past this lady, and her tiny dog (I think it was a miniature Schnauzer or something like that) jumps up and latches onto my behind!!! It tore a tiny pair of holes into my shorts... and my skin!!1 I was like "Whoa!!!" The dog's head barely made it half way up my shins, yet it was able to not only launch itself up to my buttocks, but also to HANG on to the point where I was running with a dog on my butt for a couple seconds there!!!
After Michelle and I established that I was gonna be okay and I fixed my shorts, we decided to continue with the run... I slowed down quite a bit going up Mayfield and ended up cutting off 0.4 miles at the top, though. "But hey," I rationalized, "I got BIT today!!!"
