Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
This race was supposed to be redemption from last week, but I did even worse. I could definately say this was the second worst race I've ever run. I thought everthing was coming together for me. This race showed me how wrong I was.

The plan for the race was to go out in a 5:35 then hang with eagle group. Sounded easy enough. I mean the majority of eagle's runners ran around a 17:10 for Jimmy D., which is a faster course. So the gun went off and I hung with Dylan for the first mile. We ran it in a 5:20. After that everything fell apart for me. It's super frustrating to feel yourself just crumble away. I wasn't out of breath, I just couldn't get my legs to do anything. I had nothing left. The coaches kept saying dig down deep, hold on, find something to keep me going. And looking back on the race, little doubts like "you didn't give it your all", "you're letting everybody down" start showing up. All I can think about is how I should've tried harder, but the simple truth is that I couldn't. I don't like that. I have to be able to do it. For me, for the team, for the coaches. We can't win state unless everyone fulfills their roles. My role is not being our 5th man. Not this year. I know that for our team to succeed, I need to be battling it out at the front.

I know I'm tired. I know my muscles are wrecked. I know I need some recovery time. I know we will come back and show the state who we are. But right now, all I can do is hope Silverwood is better than tonight was.
