JV Silverwood Race!!

September 11, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Partly Cloudy

Comments:
Like always, I was extremely nervous before the gunshot. But got out fast and during the first mile I decided to go much faster than usual to make sure I would use all my energy by the end. AJ tried to stick with me, but I eventually sped up lost him and then I saw Nathan. I slowly crept up passing some already tired runners. I Felt tired already after the first mile, but kept my pace.

The 2nd mile was the best. The Varsity guys and coaches then pumped me up and cheered and I quickly picked up the pace. Then me and Nathan battled it out on the air-stretch. Me and him then passed quite a few guys until we turned around and I sped around the cone and picked up the pace until I lost him, passing about five guys. My body was slowly shutting down and I could feel it. I then looked ahead and realized there wasn't that many people in front of me and I was actually doing really good. Rusty told me to relax and I tried to and realized that I still had some in me.

The 3rd mile I just wanted to slow down so bad but then I saw Molly and Lilah cheering me and didn't want to quit there. I kept going, but then Ryan and Dan told me I had 250 left I had to use everything I had left. It was painful and I was cheered the rest of the way until I finished with an astounding 18:50 in 24th place! I can't believe how tired I was after it, but it was worth it. I got more good-jobs and congrats from the race than I ever did which was incredible, even Dylan which rarely happens! I thank for everyone who cheered me on to keep me going.

I then had an awesome time at the theme park. Had some really hilarious stuff happen, and I was actually laughing out loud from some of it. Especially Nick's stories which were classic. On the way back it was hard to sleep because Shawn kept trying to sleep on my shoulder which was annoying but I didn't say anything and I survived.
Overall great stuff...
