Centipede Race!

September 15, 2010 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
This race was really fun! I loved running with the team, and singing :) This was probably the first race where I felt really mentally positive. I just kept telling myself to relax, and I felt really good! My problem is that I get too nervous and tense...
But anyways, the first mile was really fun, and SUPER fast! It went by so quickly! I was feeling pretty good, and the team really kept my spirits high because of their positive attitudes and getting us all to sing. :)
The second mile was pretty good too, I was starting to get kinda tired in the second mile but it was still really nice to have the team with me. There's just something about all of us being together in the race that is really encouraging. I loved it! Because even though I was tired, it was easier to take the focus off myself. I was kinda looking forward to dropping the rope though, because it was getting kinda annoying holding onto it.
Then the third mile, when I dropped the rope, it was like I was free!! I don't know what it was but I just felt so much better. I was like praying really hard before the 3rd mile that I would have the guts to push it around the track, and I did! It felt good to finish strong this race. I passed a lot of girls, so that was a plus! I am pretty bummed that we didn't catch Capital, because I had so much energy at the end if I remember correctly, and I think we totally could have caught them. Oh well, NEXT WEEK FOR SURE! Also, with my time I am not satisfied...but
I think I needed this race to remember how to race. I've been really tense lately, and this race reminded me how to just relax and begin with God.
The JV girls race gave me chills! I love how team-ish our team is! Sooo great! Kristina, you are a beast! :)
Wendy's was pretty delish as well :)
