Mile Repeats

This workout went much better than last week but it only really went ok. For some reason this course kills me. The grass seems really slow, the hill feels tough after 2 intervals, and I am very careful on the downhill. My main problem today was that I was having trouble getting enough oxygen. I know that was because I was breathing through my mouth, but I consciously tried to breathe through my nose and it just feels unnatural. I think I need to practice that more during easy runs and workouts. My legs were also pretty tired today because they felt heavy on the uphills and the last 2 mile intervals.

On the positive side, I held it together much better this week I am encouraged that I could hit the paces I did, even though I was running this workout at 5:30-5:40 last year. I fell off the top group during the 4th interval and it ended up being really slow. Barnes dropped me back to the 2nd group for the final interval, and I managed to gut out a very nice final mile. I was really helped by LaDelfa on the last one because we worked together. So a decent finish and pretty good mental toughness.
