Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
This was an awesome trip! I had so much fun with everyone. Bowling was especially fun, and Kara's share item totally touched my heart. I just love our team. :)
My race however, I am not too satisfied with. I suppose I ran a good race, but I didn't want a good race, I wanted a great race. But I guess its better to run great at districts, so prayerfully, that will happen!
Mile 1: I got out just like I wanted to the first mile. I was pretty relaxed for the first 400m, then I started getting tense because Rachael and Sarah were beginning to pass me. I kept surging to get back up with them, but when I would get there, my mind would remind me how tired i was already, and then I would back off. And that really makes me mad at myself. I should have been more stubborn. Anyways, when we hit the mile marker I was up with Rachael and Sarah again and we heard 6:43 for our first mile, which is exactly what I wanted. But I just couldn't stay positive.
Mile 2: This was the worst 2nd mile I think I have ever ran. Or at least it felt like it. I could literally feel how slow I was going. I remember thinking of how worried I was to pass one of the coaches because I knew they would tell me to try and catch Rachael and Sarah and I knew that I was letting our team down.
Mile 3: This was the only good thing I did all this race, ha. I just was not going to let my whole race be horrible! So I sped up and caught a bunch of girls, and i feel like this was the only mile where my mind was in it. I didn't feel focused the first two miles, but this mile I could feel a change in my thinking. I kicked it in where I said I would, and finished really strong.

At the end of the race, I was pretty disappointed in myself, but it was super hard to dwell on that because AUSTIN WON for one thing, Savannah PR'd by like 30 seconds and got 13th, and Sarah PR'd too! And then, when I heard Kara say that our girls and boys got 3rd I was even happier! I think that's what I love most about being a team: even if you have a bad race, you can still get super pumped about how your teammates ran. I have renewed hope about getting to state! And I think it makes it seem more real, because finally the other girls think so too! :) The dancing was crazy! i loved it! I'm pretty sure it was Meridian that started the trend :) I love cross!
I had a great time with you all. I'm so glad we're on the same team :)
