A3s + A1s

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: overcast, cool, damp

Comments:
Warmed-up 2 miles then did A3s on fastbowl by myself: 1800m(6:03), 1800m(6:00), 1800m(5:57), 1800m(5:48). 30sec between except 5 minutes rest before the last one (was planning on stopping after three). The paces were uncomfortably fast and it didn't take long before I was struggling--deep into oxygen debt at the end. A tough workout, but I left feeling like I could have gone harder. tough to be out there alone. Ran a little over 3 miles then did easy A1 set with the team on the track: 8x400m all at around 79 seconds (30seconds rest). Felt particularly strong and smooth on them. Cooled-down for 1 mile.

I wanted both today's and monday's workouts to be very hard--for some reason though, I left both workouts dissatisfied with the effort. On paper they look like really tough sets, but they weren't the stomach-curling type I was trying for. Maybe that's an indication of good fitness--don't really know.
