Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I had a pretty good workout today. I didn't feel to great on the warmup so I was a bit worried that I'd get dropped by the UAA crew. Turns out I didn't get dropped or even close to dropped. It felt pretty easy (aka not racing) actually; maybe slightly harder than a normal tempo would feel. I definitely could've held this pacing for 2 more mile, which would have been sub 28 and a pr. Jogged to the track and got a 12 minute break before doing the hard mile. I had no intention of hitting the 4:55-5:05 pace the UAA people had. I just went out as the last guy and tried to hold on. Was going to stop until I heard my 800 time was sub-5 pace and then I really got motivated. I really booked it in the last 200m. A bit funny b/c this is only 1 second off my mile pr, which came in the first split of one of my 3ks last indoor season.
Glad to see I'm in good shape. I knew I was, but it just wasn't showing up during the season. I think this is proof that I just don't run well under any pressure, and I always felt pressure when I was in season. There is definitely no pressure anymore b/c I am running for me only. Who the hell cares how fast I run. I'm so stoked for the marathon. I'm going 2:45:00 one month from today!
