Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I cannot believe that this happened, but I actually went on a run with Ben Hahn. It was freaking crazy. I had the chance to run with Edinboro's top guy (a dII All-American) and a couple of the other top guys. Even the biggest hangover in the world wasn't going to stop me from making it to this run.
The route was terrific, a 14.5 mile loop on dirt roads with rolling hills.
First 11.5 in about 6:20 pace (according to Ben)
Last 3 a lot slower. Ben and the two other guys decided that they would pick up the pace for the last 3 because that's when we hit the 3 largest hills and I decided that it wasn't in my best interest to do that. The distance/pace was getting to me a little, plus I was definitely feeling the effects of last night, my stomach was rather uneasy. Otherwise, I think I could have hung on for a little longer.
It doesn't matter either way. They seemed impressed that I stuck with them. Especially since I'm Case's #14 and all. I think I made a good impression for us, seeing as how they said I could run with them any time.
Oh and Ben Hahn thinks I can run a 14:40 5k if I can get to 70 miles a week. I really needed today, I was starting to get down on myself...and that's never good. Talking to those guys really helped me put and I'm finally getting my confidence back.
