I originally intended to to 20,15,10,5 but decided to cut out the 10 because this was my first real workout and my legs were utterly destroyed at that point. I decided it was better to do a 5 well than a 10 and 5 poorly. Otherwise I think this was a good start. My breathing and heart rate recovered very quickly after each segment. My quads and calves completely tanked which means I probably accomplished something today.

I had some stomach trouble and had to make a pit stop after the 20 and during the cooldown. I recently have restarted taking iron and didn't have the best eating habits today and last night.

As I finished, I thought a little bit about 2010. It was in many ways a failure of a year (no track season, no Nationals in XC, losing the 4.0), but I am actually content I did my best. 2010 was not a trophy case; it was a journey. An ill-fated journey in many ways, but thinking back to January 1, 2010 in the midst of my injury rancor, it went better than I could have ever hoped.

2010 is done, but I am not done yet with college or with running. And maybe I still have some things left to do before I go...
