Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Started out on campus and headed down to the bike path for a lil tempo. Started at Wing, ran down Tower to East, back up to Bartels and then Judd Falls to the bike path for a warm up. Did some dynamic stretching drills before, and then set out to do 2.5 miles.
Splits were 6:00(1 mi), 12:00(2 mi), 14:59(2.5mi). I am amazed at how well I paced this. I felt like I was slowing down, but I threw in some surges to stay on pace. I really wanted to break 15 at the end, and I pushed it hard. I was tired at the end. I know that this may not sound very hard compared to how my training was in cross last year, but I was proud of myself that I completed the run without dying. I have come a long way, and I still have a ways to go. My legs were tired, and my cardio was getting pushed which is good. Back and hip were tight and knee popped once or twice. I feel like the only thing holding me back is my leg muscles arnt used to moving quickly. Its not that they cant, its just I havnt done it for a while and it feels foreign.
Very slow warm down home via stevenson and dodge. (its a little more than 2 but not quite 2.5...)
Got back, stretched and abs. Left out hips back and hammies because my back has been very sore and tight lately afterward. Thought a day off might help.
4x 1:15 plank alternating with pick 4x40
