January 12, 2011 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
today was my first workout on the indoor track. i was with the milers again, so it was me, nick hewitt, peter, lil joe, and john frey. heres the workout:
2miles warmup on track.
"medium" drills routine
800m @mile race pace-- ran 2:17, 8min recovery
2x200 below mile race pace-- 29/30, 200 btwn/3min recovery
400 @mile pace-- 66, 3 min recovery
300 @mile pace-- i think 51, 3min recovery
600 @mile pace-- 1:41, 4min recovery
2x200 below mile pace-- 28/28, 200 recovery btwn
cool down 1 mile on track
the "new" eagle pillar, hips x15, stretching
this workout felt good. i was relaxed for the 8, worked hard on the short intervals, the six felt rough, but i made it through, and the 200s were pretty exhausting-- i picked up the turnover and i felt fast. i like going fast.
unfortunately, my groin hurts. i think its from the turns. i sometimes got this from the first track workout of the season, and that was outdoor- these turns are even sharper. i'll work on flexibility and watch it closely.

a note-- i don't really like running on the indoor track. it hurts. the turns are very sharp, and it's mentally tiring. however, i was thrilled to run on it today because running outside on a day like today seemed terrible.
