Weather: 35; inside
Comments:
jogged to and from my doctor's appointment at mazza this morning.
jogged the warmup laps with the team and did drills.
warmed up with a 10 minute jog before the 4x8.
ran the first leg of the 4x8 in an unimpressive-but-still-working-hard 2:51.
ran a 5 minute cooldown jog.
ran a 10 minute warmup for the DMR.
did drills - twice.
ran the mile as the anchor of the DMR in 6:16 (12 seconds off my pr from spring track last year, not bad for the first winter meet of the season i guess!)
ran a 5 minute cooldown jog.
ran a 5 minute warmup jog.
ran the 3rd leg of the 4x4 in an atrociously slow 76.3, but have never ever worked harder in my life for 400 consecutive meters. thought i might collapse.
ran a casual cooldown jog.
did the cooldown with the team.
all in all, a good day's work!!!
really fun too :) I LOVE doing multiple events like that, and I'd forgotten how much i love the atmosphere at track meets. fantastic to finally be working with the team in a team-like manner instead of the competitive stuff that's been such a part of practice recently. and i love the feeling of running fast! :)
