For Chris Kelly.

January 19, 2011 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Dear Chris Kelly,

I hope you are having a marvelous conclusion to your day. My day progressed in a rather typical manner. It began with me waking up to the sound of my happy alarm and my own personal desire to put my fist through a wall at the sound of it. I went to three equally uninteresting lectures, spaced with a much-needed sleep on the Bingham couches from heaven and a wonderful lunch that included Frosted Flakes. I then went back to my room to chillax for a while before venturing over to Veale. This resulted in me receiving a lecture from Mike (the awesome custodian) about how circuits is not difficult, and if it really was, then I should just pick a boy and make him do it for me. Interesting. He also threatened to wash my mouth out with dish soap for my foul language. I promised to do so later, so I will get on that immediately upon finishing this (bitch of a) running log. Nothing much else happened today. I tied my shoes once. I probably peed several times. I eventually wandered up to the fourth floor in search of persons also making their way to Veale, but you, Chris Kelly, were among those nowhere to be found.

Perhaps I have now presented sufficient background information in order to begin the discussion of my workout this afternoon. Well. I ran in the mile group today, like last Wednesday. Brooke and I started warming up inside on the track, going in REVERSE normal track-running orientation, which is very difficult for me to process. Then Coach made us stop to do drills. Thus, myself and the rest of the distance runners wandered up and down the track looking stupid for some time; then Brooke and I finished our warm-up while the rest of the milers ran outside. We waited for them to return, and I peed several times. We then did the workout, which was running in circles quickly around the track for designated distances. I managed to stay with everybody for all the intervals except the second 600, when I finished about two seconds back. I think I hit my goal times for all of them, but I don't know these things. At the end, Coach decided to make us do four 200's instead of the two written on the week's workout document. They were kind of killer. Some people stopped due to slowing or injury, but Coach made me do all of them. It. was. I went down by a second on the last one. Brooke and Allison and I cooled down for two miles on the indoor track afterward. They asked me about the regular responsibilities of my RA position, and I explained why it sucks (oops! did I say that?!) Then I did strength, which made me want to cry, and ice bathing by myself (which made me want to cry some more) and also some abs and stretching and some cowering under a hot water faucet. These latter three would have been all fine and dandy, except that I was late to my staff meeting and getting panicky.

On the whole, Mr. Kelly, my workout was characterized by people commenting that my clothes reminded them of watermelon and the fact that I peed about six times total. I was also extremely hungry afterward and didn't have time to go to Fribley due to my lovely and much-anticipated meeting of staff. Oh, and I also greatly desire to be reunited with my silver tights. Never Stop Exploring.

I hope that this satisfies your general requirements for a running log, Chris Kelly. I believe that I successfully covered "what happened and such," along with "whats going on in your running life" (no comment on punctuation), as well as your many other topics of interest as discussed in your most informative electronic correspondence. I hope that you and the other "running log creeps out there" are fully satisfied by my efforts, and also understand that IF YOU WANT THIS AGAIN YOU'RE WRITING IT.

My Kindest and Most Heartfelt Regards,

Corin (Corey) L. Bowen
