brandywine and death

headed over to the brandywine hill after the usual drills and a good deal of complaining on the part of everyone (I don't know why it seems like fun to bitch and moan about how hard the workout is - doesn't that just psych you out?...plus, I like brandywine haha...). did the hill 3 times. First time felt the worst but was the fastest (3:57 from the bottom to the stop sign about 150m past the crest). breathing hard and legs aching at the top...second hill i was proud of my strength - I was less fatigued than others in my group - and I was able to catch up with and help out tess partway up the hill (4:04). the third hill was hard - I struggled to push..it was an effort just to keep my legs moving. (4:11). i thought that we were going to do a fourth brandywine, but instead julia and i went on an "extended cooldown" with anthony and the boys. it included the hill of death, which was a huge struggle for me but I did it. I actually felt pretty strong (after the 10-minute jogging break), but everyone in that group was really fast so I was eating dust haha. anthony ran it with me (SO nice of him!) which really helped. it was amazing to be at the top! then the mile back to school was relatively brisk (ran with peter and ben max and mark berenson and julia). a good day's work! I love surviving the hill of death :) it's really satisfying to be able to push myself that hard
