Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 48
Comments:
after some psuedo-stretching, jogged to the crescent trail, then striders and a few random drills. surprisingly, i felt reasonably warm and ready to go when the tempo started. 10 minutes brisk but breezy (mile split was 7:25 with a 3:35 first 800), then a chill 5 minute cooldown and then another 10 minute tempo back (uphill). it got very competitive, but i felt great and was ready to play, and i feel like i really kept the pace honest and driven. the distance that we covered in 10 minutes on the downhill we did in 9:32 on the way back up. the only frustrating part was the last 200 when everyone who had been behind me came flying past - like as if it were a race. that's not the way training tempo runs are supposed to end!
but we had a really good conversation about it afterwards and i feel like alot of the tension/competition that was present during the run is lifted now. :)
