Haitian Mountain Workout part I

Comments:
Due to social unrest in outskirts of Port-au-Prince, my running is limited to a half mile stretch of dirt road near the compound where I am staying. Fortunately, this piece of road has beautiful views of countryside and is relatively free of traffic. It is however on a mountain so steep and rocky that you need a 4-wheel drive to get up it and even then its dicey. I ran 2 medium hills, 3 short hills, and 1 one superhill. Had me breathing and sweating pretty seriously though fortunately my calves didn't get sore till the end. We're up at 2000 feet, but I doubt that has any effect.
