another good workout, really proud of my ability to not only hang in there, but to get faster. if and when i race something, i'm going to run well. i can feel it. just one 5k race and i should get at the 15's. 5 mile (30min) tempo, and it was just pouring rain and pretty cold out so me and chris kelly went to the treadmill. i listened to the strokes the whole time, which helped in keeping me focused, and i got the treadmill with the tv in front of it, buuutttt, it was food network so i mostly ignored it. my pace was set to be 5:45-5:50, so i started the first 15 minutes at 10.3 mph(5:49 pace), then bumped up to 10.4(5:45) for five minutes, then bumped up again to 10.5(5:42) for 5 minutes, then finally to 10.6(5:39) to finish off the last five minutes. felt really good, could have went faster, and didnt feel bad about bumping up for the finish even though it was faster than my pace, because i'm not racing this weekend. coach said she'd send me a workout for Friday or Saturday today or tomorrow, and it will likely be 400's, which i'm okay with, but i just hope they are fast and not race pace ones. i don't really like those that much. feeling good again, and i know all i need is a race to prove myself. i feel like a master pacer at those 76's, which equates to 15:50 5k. so i know i can do it given the opportunity.
