so my senior season of cross country (the one i often look back to) our 6 and 7 guys were known as the workout warriors. they often ran with me during workouts, which was faster than our 3-5 guys were, but never beat them in races. they never showed up on race day, but on workout day they could run even with me, and it was frustrating just watching them do this to themselves. anywho, the point of the story is this is how i feel right now, and to experience it makes me feel weird. beyond the week and a half around spring break, i've been rocking all the workouts, hitting my times or going faster. good news, if i could translate that into any sort of race. my best race was like 10 weeks ago... frustrating. if this were a cross country season i would feel as if i was letting down my team, its just that here in track no one is dependent on my points... everyday though i keep telling myself one day it will payoff, and things will even out and start to go my way. lots to look forward to. not even done with freshman year. shout out to robert and tim, who unfortunately both appear done for the season, and i can't even imagine how i'd react to that news. i'd make sure i went down with a fight though, just like them. i admire the not giving up attitude.
yeah, so on to the workout... 4 times 1000, 4 times 200. went 3:08, 3:04, 3:04, 3:03. 34, 32, 31, 32. ran hard, i could tell, but i felt good. motivated. it was rainy and kind of cold, but it didnt bother me, just kept it rolling.
