Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 60 Partly Cloudy

Comments:
I had the Carlton leg the second lap and the Quad leg the fourth lap after a little re-arrangement of sorts between me, Grese, and Rodney. I warmed up for a couple miles, slightly worried I ate too much for breakfast but my stomach ended up being fine. I got the baton ahead on my Carlton leg and more or less just kept the distance. My legs hurt some afterward and I am not used to running that fast. The Quad leg was a bit different because I made an attempt to go out a little slower so that I didn't die at the end. When I was going over the Adelbert Bridge, some guy started cheering for me and wasn't watching where he was going so he tripped over a railing and fell backwards on to a trash can. I ignored him since I had a leg to finish. Brian Link yelled to me that Obama was chasing me so I decided to try and kick with all I had. I cooled down for a while with Kristen Hederstrom, who I haven't seen in a long time, while we watched our class maintain a stable but small lead over the freshmen for the rest of the race.

We finished in first to become the fifth class in the 101 year history of the race to win all four years. People were spraying champagne bottles all over the place in a celebration a long time coming. After getting our medals, Robert and I cooled down with Blaire for another mile or so. I actually decided to be a little cocky and wore my medal. It was a good experience to cap off my four years here. I am sure I'll miss this place when I leave in December and I will certainly miss all my friends who will be leaving in three short weeks. Four years is too short a time to know you guys.
