Comments:
Pretty pumped about how this workout turned out. 2x2mi tempo + 1 mile hard. 3 minutes break between the intervals. First tempo (indoor track) felt standard. Second tempo (treadmill) felt more strained than I would like but still good. Decided before the workout that shooting for 5 flat on the mile would be ambitious so I would start out right on that pace. I checked my pace through the first 200m (indoor track) and was right on pace. Then I ignored the watch and just went. I was very happy that I hit 5 flat b/c I didn't think that would be possible after 4 tempo miles. Definitely felt like I had 1 gear left during the mile so that was excellent. The one thing I need to remember is that I took 3 minutes rest between sets (which is quite a bit). Still, I think that I could definitely PR in a mile right now (8 seconds faster) so I might take a random day and run a mile at the NASH track fresh.
It's mid-June and I'm already pretty pumped about how my training has been going. I feel a good race coming this fall.
