it's july, and it definitely feels like it.

July 1, 2011 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: hot and humid. and hot.

Comments:
i ran at chattahoochee again this morning for my long run. i didn't plan it or anything, but i ran into the guy from last week- robin, who was running with a guy and a girl (i don't remember their names now). they both work at big peach, where i bought my shoes this week, but they work at different stores. we talked about running, they knew some people that i know, and interestingly enough, robin asked me if i knew esther erb, and i was happy to say that i do! we talked about the athletes he's worked with-- walter dix, terrence trammell, and others. it's all pretty cool. we ran together for about 40 minutes before he left, and i went to run up on the trails.
i was significantly more tired than i was last week for this run, and i don't know why. i think it's because i was dehydrated-- it being a morning run, and the heat and humidity took a lot out of me. i was completely exhausted afterwards. stretch. drank a bottle of gatorade and a liter of water before i got home. the rest of the summer will probably be like this. stretched a little more once i got home, then decided i was too hungry to do abs. ate an enormous brunch.

on another note-- i've been thinking that i should do some more road running. while trail running is great, the only downside is that there aren't so many trails in cleveland, but i want my body to be ready to run on roads by start of season. i'll run this weekend on roads-- short runs, with striders at the end in preparation for the peachtree, then i think i'll start incorporating my 'to lakeside and back' 11-miler every once in a while.
