I don't know what to think of this. I believe I did well (especially considering the heat). I took the first mile out too slow (6:40), but I raced the last 1.5 very well. strong finish. the problem is that my time is 22 seconds SLOWER than last year. this confuses me because last year I was in the middle of the finishers. I know the heat was bad and the course wasn't in great shape, but I don't know if that can be put rightfully to blame for all that gained time. in any case, I wanted to run a lot faster. I am glad, however, that I didn't react badly to the heat, as I normally do (outdoor conferences.... >:( ). perhaps the gluten-free diet is helping considerably with that (severe reactions to heat are one of the main symptoms of gluten intolerance). overall, not at all a shit-show, I think both teams made EXCELLENT appearances today, and I'm super stoked for CALVIN!!!! :D
