light jog w/s.o this morning (1), then approx 5 shitty miles on the treadmill while watching survivor. been dragging so much this week and my mileage is lower than it usually is! what the frig. i keep thinking it is my iron levels so i've been taking a multi-V for the past few days but seen no change..yet. i read somewhere it could take a while for them to get up there. i freaking hate going to the dr so hopefully things will get better soon. i wanted to hit 12 tomorrow so that i can at least hit 40 for the week but not sure if it's gonna happen. relying on my garmin to let me explore more and go off the beaten path a little to entertain myself for that long. all i know is that i'm staying true to the promise i made myself to take one complete rest day (NO RUNNING!!!) every week. i think this will help me recuperate better and stay injury-free. a few months ago, actually even a few weeks ago, i would laugh at the idea of taking a day off from exercise but now i see it differently. or maybe i'm just too tired/sore/draggy to care. i also want to make an effort not to do 2-a-days. i thought they would benefit me in terms of building mileage in an easier way since the runs are broken up... but one theory i have as too why i feel like crap on every run lately is because running twice a day (regardless if my morning miles are plodding and slow)is not giving the legs long enough time to rest. i think i'll resume 2-a-days a little later in the summer when i'm fitter and more able to handle it.
