Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
3 mile warmup, then 3 miles around goal marathon pace. 5:45 (slight uphill), 5:30 (turning around halfway), 5:14 (slight downhill)
Then, 10x~300m hill repeats. Pretty steep hill, but nothing super crazy. Very moderate, steady incline. Hard to know pacing, but I was pretty beat by the end of every repeat no matter how fast I was going. Super slow jog downhill for recovery, then right into the next one.
To finish things off, I did another 3 miles around goal marathon pace. Hit 5:31, 5:30, 5:37.
The second set of 3 miles actually felt easier in a way. I was having a hard time warming myself up today, and the first set was very forced for the first couple miles. 1 mile cooldown.
I'm feeling more wrecked than I expected. This ended up being more volume than I thought, and I didn't really take any rest between segments. Unless I recover really quickly, I get the feeling that I should push that long run to early-mid next week instead of forcing it in on Sunday. I really want it to be quality, so that's what I think I should do if things go the way I expect them to in the next 4-6 days.
