Exercise Type: Bike

Comments:
Finally got a tire pump for my bike. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes. I didn't realize just how flat my tires were before. Biking felt absolutely effortless. Forbidden Drive was pure mud and yet I was still able to go just as fast as I do when its hard and dry (29:30). I really flew once I was got out onto the country roads. On the way back I brought it home via Andorra Ave and Ridge to avoid going through the mud on Forbidden Drive again. This turned out to have been a bad idea. I was going down a steep hill right before ridge. It was still wet and slippery from all the rain and I was going too fast down it. I hit my brakes hard because the traffic light had turned red, and immediately my wheels gave out from under me and I went flying into the pavement. My left hip and left knee took the brunt of the blow, although my right quad and calf got some of it as well. I lay on the road for a good minute until a couple cars came, then I hobbled off the road to check out the damage. Nothing major. The chain was jammed and the handlebars were bent, I had a big bruise on my hip that looked like a giant raspberry, and my knees were bloody. Could have been worse. I road home slowly and cautiously. The bike's still ride-able, but the bent handlebars are really annoying. I think they're fixable, though.
