Exercise Type: Run

Relaxing day. Slept 'til 9:30a...Made coffee and pancakes for Sara. Basically, lounged around until 1-ish until we had to leave for Natomas.
Fun time with Sara's moms side. Ate like crap for the first time in awhile - chips, burger, hot dog, cupcakes. Tasty!
Got home at 5:30 and waited until after 6 to run.
Plan was to run through Rocklin, hitting the usual hills/trails - not force anything, take what the body (and weather!) gave me and adapt accordingly.
Felt SUPS sluggish from the start. Probz a combo of food in belly and 90deg heat, but I shuffled from the go. Surprisingly, though, hit low-7 for the first mi and :14+ through 2 (SEERZIES?). I *felt like* molasses, but just tried to keep the turnover quick.
At the top of Stanford Ranch/Crest, veered off on this "hidden" .75mi single-track loop (180'/lap) and did 2, popped out - down Stan. Ranch, up Park. Did Nature Trail (1mi/200') out/back, up Park to stop sign. Down, turned right on another paved, nature trail which led me to Whitney Oaks St (Rich neighborhood, some Kings Players and celebrities live here), up WO, turned right off on a steep/rolling dirt nature trail which took me to the backside of Park. Up Park, left to trail, down hillside (220'), back up, down Park, back through nature trail and went back the way I came .... Going down "frontside" of Park, went down 1mi nature trail again and this time, a HS kid tried to race me (without me aware for the first few min).
All of a sudden, I hear someone HAULING behind me! OK, F-it, LETS ROLL!
I descend this short, twisty section and hear him bomb down it (his IPOD blasting so loud I can hear his tuneZ!), but then the path kicks up and rolls upward 150' and I hear, "F&@$! .. I GIVE UP!" Followed by LOUD breathing sounds. I laugh. Serves you right you little punk! :) jk
Once at the top of the path (it kicks up 80' in 150m) I turn right on Crest and it's exactly 3mi's home. Go time!
Legs respond (it's nearly dark at this point - 2:05 into run and about 8:30pm) and I flow...Not pushing, just letting the body flow.
Breathing fine as I hit 6min for the first mi, still fine at 11:58 for the 2nd, and slightly labored with a 5:42 final mi. 17:42 for last 3. Good training. 3k' of gain.
