now i have a much greater sense of appreciation, watching Branch Warren literally manhandle 315lbs on the barbell overhead press. throwing it over his head like its nothing.
last week i dumbbell pressed 55lbs per hand which adds to 110lbs. I decided to try barbell overhead press, loaded up 115lbs thinking it wouldnt be a big deal cuz its close to 110 and barbells generally easier than db anyways due to the stability factor. picked the bar off the rack. holy shit. my rotator cuffs started screaming: Aaron, what the motherfuck do you think ur doing.
I was planning 4x8. but after 2 reps i realized a more realistic workout would be a strength based, 5x5 since this was fucking heavy. so i did that, taking 2:30ish between sets and 3 min on the last set. hit all my reps. a noticeable difference in strength betwen the left and right side. afterwards my rotator cuffs were no longer my friends. they hurt but not injured, just traumatized.
lateral raises i couldnt do 30lbs cuz my RCs felt weak. so i did 25s. did like 3x8 with 25s, had to slowly control the negatives otherwise i'd just like dislocate my goddamn shoulders. then 3x15 w/ 20s. then 2 NOS sets.
reverse RD flyes 22.5 felt awful so i did 17.5s for today, 3x8 with 70lbs reverse pec dec and dropped 3x for the last set.

i donthtink ill ever do barbell overhead press, maybe not for awhile and ill go lighter compared to the DB weight. so that i dont actually have to live in Snap City.
