Legs a little beat up post-Monsters, but wanted to get in something quality today. The mind liked 2x1mi and the body was game.

Easy :10 warmup, drills + quick chat with one of Sara's parents neighbors who was jogging out there with his pit bull.

Opening mile felt really good - 5:06 (75, 2:32, 3:49, 5:06)
Had to dodge the dog a few times, but other than that, really smooth effort.

Pissed, got a drank, and after 4min, hit it again.

Felt smooth again and surprisingly came through in 70 for the first lap! Oops....Eazed it back with a 77 (2:28) and then after the 1k mark (3:07), my brain was like, "Dude, just shut it down, what do you have to prove? Rest." Stopped at 1,050m. Glad I did.

I needed to scale it back. I'm notorious for pushing too hard during the taper phase.
