Comments:
I’m typing this in a word document because Running Dash Log Dot Com is down yet again. I hope the site stays up, or at least gives us warning if it ever goes down for good so I can salvage my extensive archive of logs.

Yes, this run was exactly 5k, 3.1 miles. If anyone is curious, I measure all my runs by setting waypoints in Google Earth. It’s very accurate, and I’d highly recommend it. Anyway, it was a solid run from St. Albans for my first run in a week. I had a sore throat last week, so it was really good to finally get out. It was a relaxed conversational pace, but we pushed that last hill coming up Mass just a little bit. And by “pushed” I of course am talking about an early-July push. To call it a “pickup” would only be cheating myself.

We did some planks and striders after, and I got a ride home—well, almost home. I was exactly 1.6 miles away (basically half a 5k) from home as the Sam flies, which is on the Capital Crescent trail. I had my phone and wallet and water bottle with me, but I still managed a relatively brisk cooldown. As in, faster than the run. It felt good and was mostly downhill. And I figured I’d just listen to music since I had it with me. It was the first time I’ve listened to music not coming from my head or the finish line DJ while running since, well, seventh grade. Ever since that first morning of Makemie my freshman year when Sam Gilman informed me that I’d have to put away my iPod on team runs, I haven’t listened to music on any run. But I think I kind of like it. We shall see.
