Provincial 5k Championshipso

Weather: overcast, small headwind on the first half

cool down with Benson and some of the MUN X-C guys and girls.

Not too thrilled with myself on this one. Perhaps I haven't raced enough this year to be sharp enough to set a PB. So here's what happened:

DF went out from the gun, as expected and JF and I stayed with him for the first k, which was in about 3:06. But right there he put a gap on us. And, to be perfectly honest, I was too afraid to go with him.

JF got a little ahead of me for the next 1.5 but when I surged at the turnaround point he responded. I felt like I angered the beast in him because he got ahead of me there and I never did catch him after that.

I ran strong but not aggressive enough to really threaten him or set a PB.

Lesson learned: wear you watch in case your game plan fails. That way you can fall back onto a plan B.
