there were only 4 teams in this race. by the time i got the baton, 2 were out of reach and the kid next to me waiting for the baton told me he had never ran an 800 before, so i was entirely unmotivated to run fast. it felt really easy running a 2:06, as opposed to feeling like shit running a 2:04. we came back with our medals though so it was all good. overall a pretty shitty day of running though.
so the last few races i have ran like complete and utter shit. to be completely honest its pissing the shit out of me. so next week im going to start doing the mile workouts, since thats what i trained for all last year and it worked pretty well for me at the end of the season. i dont think the 800 workouts ive been doing are enough, and hopefully with better endurance, my race will seem shorter and i can run faster. im also scared that im mentally fucking myself over during races. i have to work on being consistent and not screwing myself halfway through the race when things arent going completely right. i have to get better, this is embarassing.
