Comments:
Moral of the story: don't get too excited about a set of striders. This was a poor quality workout and I have a whole range of excuses--wind, lingering sickness, solitude, poor sleep, limited time. My aunt kindly dropped me off at Great Valley High School track, a beautiful blue and white 400 meters in a miniature stadium. Only two pairs of high school age kids were unobstrusively practicing lacrosse and soccer on the field. I'd have 45 minutes for everything coach told me to do. I split 78, 77 on both 800s--they still felt difficult. The 4s were harder yet. I have to say the effort was "all out" but times were obviously not. I had the fleeting fancy that I'd PR in the 400m last night. The 200m was just an effort to get on the toes a little bit. I had a few minutes for strength work too.
