ASCI Part 2

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Had to return to the dreaded island, complete with confusing woods, unnecessary trails, poorly footed hills, and rocks in the middle of paths! But seriously, it wasn't great. Luckily, I knew the trail already, and had a bit more energy than yesterday. I planned on doing four laps, but I ended up doing five after I got a second wind. The fourth was in the opposite direction, just to mix things up. That direction is definitely worse, possible because it starts with the woods, where you have to stay focused on footing, and ends on the outer perimeter road, where instead of initially settling into a rhythm, you slowly melt and slip on loose gravel. I know I shouldn't even be subdividing the run into the mile-long loops, but it's really hard not to. It's also really hard not to look at my watch. Each loop was a lot more consistent time wise, but knowing my pace throughout the whole run kind of messed with me, further convincing me not to get a Garmin Watch and just to run how I feel. Run ended with a nice, steady, relaxed rhythm. Still didn't get to see the concrete rafting river in action. Apparently they turn it off at 5:00.
