Fun Hills!

July 16, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Ran with Anthony, Silas, Tristan, Sam, and Alex. Fantastic run. It was great to be with my teammates and my coach, to fly up the hills, and to have fun conversation. We took Garfield down past 29th until it became Woodley. We then turned left on 28th, planning on going up and then taking the Cathedral hill. But Anthony decided that was too short, so we turned right on a side road, left on 27th, and then left again up Cathedral until 29th, where we "crested" the hill by going down half the 29th block. We went back up 29th St, turning left on Cortland Pl and then right on Klingle Rd and going up the WIS (I think?) driveway, cresting that hill in the parking lot. We then turned right down a hill onto the Tregaron trails, soon making a U-turn and going up the short but steep dirt hill and cresting by going left down the rest of the driveway. Then right on Macomb, left on Connecticut, left on Newark, and up the Newkark hill until Highland Place (where we crested). By far the steepest and hardest one. We followed Highland place to 34th, then took Newark to 35th (to avoid the John Eaton Hill, I assume). Followed 35 until we hit Woodley Rd, where we crossed and went up the Beauvoir hill, which was the shortest, steepest, and best feeling). Got a nice view of the track in progress and then took Pilgrim Rd to Garfield. Felt fantastic, and considering tomorrow's theoretical double, I'm glad that I went with the second group and not the first. For the first time, I was actually looking forwards to each hill and hoping for more. Everybody ran good.
