August 8, 2015 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 80s, did not feel like it
Comments:
I had to do my first afternoon run in weeks, because of the early departure from Rehoboth--the last one for a while. Ran the Tour d'Arlington plus half a lap around the house to make it an hour. In my opinion, I made a fair effort, but could not hide my fatigue from yesterday and the rest of the week. I'm still relieved, however to be running some hills: a place where I absolutely must get my act together before the season starts. Looking ahead to Iceland, Sweden and Denmark, the first five days of the trip will coincide with the last five of a down week (read: 55-60), but I may have to hit my highest mileage of the summer during remaining 10 days.
Next week I NEED one steady state day, one hard tempo, and one quality hill day. At this point the other fartlek workouts can wait. Six striders, 1:30 planks, clams, 40 pushups.
