Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Ran with a decently large group for the last senior-led summer run. Went down Nebraska past ward to New Mexico. By then we had divided by gender. Merged right off New Mexico onto 44th. At the end of 44th, we decided to take a path going east instead of entering the Sacred Leaf Hunting Grounds (hence the title). It just spat us back out on 44th, just a bit farther north of the trail head, so some people went back via 44th at that point. Tristan, Noah, Thomas, and I kept following the trails west (across Foxhall) to BK. We took the trail up to the parking lot, and then took Chain Bridge Rd up to Nebraska to home. I felt pretty good (except for an exhausting hill on one of the trails), and enjoyed keeping the pace mellow on the way back. I need to relax on my runs more often and take it easy (not necessarily pace, just mentality)--something to remember going into this season. Distance is an estimate.
