7 mile drive

September 7, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: There's actually a street called 7 mile drive

Comments:
We started out with a pretty good group but along the way some girls turned around for various reasons. It ended up just being me, Emma, Ainslie, Sylvia, and Zoe doing the full ten miles. I ate dry cereal about 15 minutes before running and it didn't bother me at all. On the run, I was wondering if dry cereal is the food that works best for me before runs. I actually didn't feel much at all during the run today other than some soreness in my shoulders in the first mile. I guess that's a good thing.
We stopped a few times during the run. The first time was when we were going up a hill. I heard Ainslie's breathing become uneven and fast which I knew was caused by her hip so I thought that we would just stop at the top of the hill for a moment. About halfway up it seemed to get a lot worse than usual. Right when I was considering asking Ainslie if she wanted to stop, she sat/fell onto the side of the road saying she couldn't feel her hip. I called Sylvia and Zoe back, and we took a break before seeing if Ainslie could stand, then walk, and then run without as much pain.
Our second stop was at buttermilk falls to get water. We didn't stay for too long, and the water wasn't very cold anyway.
When we started running again Emma said she didn't feel good, so we slowed down for a few minutes. After that, we just had to run back through downtown and we were stopped at only a few intersections.
During hurdles, it was really hot but I put a bag of ice on my head and neck which kept me cool. I felt bad for the football players running around in all their gear.
