So pretty much here's what happened.

I felt amazing. I don't even know if I pushed myself that hard but whatever I did I enjoyed it a lot more than what I did last year. I'm extremely pumped for the season.

I felt a little slow in the beginning, but I started passing people right from the start. Slowly, I might add. Haha, I even knocked a girl down by accident and she was so mad at me. Oh well, it was an accident and I apologized. Anyways, the first mile I was really focused on gaining my spot. I think I was about in 8th place behind Sora. I felt a little tired.

On the second mile, that's when I really had to focus. Usually, I die because I feel like it's so long and boring, but I really kept my head up this time. When I caught Sora (i could tell she was in pain when she was gripping her sides) I caught Kelli from Mt.View and was pumped! I can just remember going on the canal and catching up to her and even passing a few other guys (Sweet!). I was so proud of myself when I realized that the second mile was over, and it was time to start picking up the pace. I felt great, mostly because I kept a positive attitude.

The third mile was amazing. It was then that I realized that no one could catch me! I could hear footsteps behind me, people cheering for them to pass me and I said to myself "No way! You're not gonna pass me fools." And I did it. The finish was right there, sure I was tired, but I finished hard without getting PASSED AT ALL during the race.

I think I kinda found what my weaknesses are in racing definately, but just that focus can help you become a better runner.

Oh yeah, and I got 20:13 as I was crossing the finish line, but they said I got a 20:21. Who knows but still, it's a BIGTIME pr for me.

Good race, I'm excited for the season.
