Its the start of a new week and an end to the first month of 2016. I totaled 109 miles in January including one half marathon in really windy (30-40 mph) conditions. I was browing through my running log and was noticing that all my runs where around 8 minutes a mile and it really did show in my racing results. After the Clearwater half marathon I started focusing on bringing the mile splits down closer to race pace. I was able to get 10k runs in with an average pace of about 7 miles and even had the return 5k pace below 7 mins for one workout. I set my focus at getting my training 10k pace back in under 40 minutes. That will be a good place to start if a I am looking to make a break through come march 6th!
