Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
And another racing season is in the books. This was my second year running the halfathon challenge. The season didn't start off as well as I would have like it to. I also haven't ran as much I would like to. Since About July 1st 2015 I haven't been as dedicated as I could have been. Not during the off season and not during the season either. Despite those set backs I should great strength as well as great racing strategy to finish the season on high note.

I missed the start of the race by about 30 seconds, while I am not using chip time in my log this was definitely a PR in the half marathon!

The first 3 miles came in at 18:30 avegaging 6:10/mile. Through 10 miles I was at 1 hour and 2 minutes flat pacing at 6:12 per mile. The last 5k I feel off covering the last portion of the course in 20:40 at 6:39/mile. The last few miles where tough but I didn't fall off the pace to bad. I did a really good job of pacing at 6:10 per mile. I always seem to have trouble at the 10 mile mark unless I go out super slow like 6:30 miles.

This race catapults me into the offseason where I hope to accomplish a lot more of personal growth both physically and mentally! I know the aspects I need to work on and its a matter of having the strength to do it instead of the weakness to make excuses!

1) I need to stay hydrated all summer long! Lots of water and juices, less mt dew!

2)Sit ups and push ups everyday to strengthen the core muscle groups. A strong core will help me run faster and keep my form together late in races.

3)Eat more food! The better I eat the better I train!

4)Stay consistent in running and stretching. and spend more time stretching before and after runs. I must stay consistent in all aspects this summer!
