Sudeck Classic 8k:
well, i was kinda hoping to do better, but with the kind of shape i'm in, i couldn't have honestly expected to run much faster. packed it up with group 3 (drew, kamron, nick, steve, and jeff) for the first 5k at 6:00 (target) pace. felt pretty good through 2.5, but coming back to the field started feeling shitty, and had to really push to finish up the hill with them the second time. unfortunately this kinda toasted me so when they went at the top of the hill i couldn't really respond. from what i remember splits were 5:55, 6:24, 6:03, 6:48, 5:45. final time 31:00. probably the only 8k ive ever ran where my last mile was my fastest, but that was partially because my 4th mile was so horrendous. anyways, okay race. it showed that i'm still not anywhere near where i'd like to be and an 8k is way too long of a race to be able to fake it.
