After a .5 mile warm up, would like you to run 2x3 miles at tempo pace with 3 min full walk rest in between

A tempo is a comfortably hard run at close to half marathon pace. With this heat right now, I would shoot to close to 8 min pace but lots will depend on hills, terrain, weather etc. Be sure to really take the full 3 min rest in between each 3 mile piece.
This is s key workout in your program, so be sure to do it on a day that you have the time and energy. We can always push it to Thursday if need be;)

ok went out in the morning.. did not feel great. Did the first 3 miles in sub-8 min pace, but the return was a big struggle...maybe 9 min pace. I think I might be recovering from a cold.
in the evening, felt a lot better.. did 5k with the Ocala running club.. likely 7:30 pace.
