Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
picked up abby at the ungodly hour of 8:30 (better than 5:40) and we went to Bethesda to do my workout (6-8 by 2 min at tempo) on the CCT. my knee was bothering me this morning so I was a bit worried going into this workout. it bothered me on the first two pick ups, which felt awesome, probably because they were downhill. I didn't think about it at all during the second two pick-ups because I was struggling with the uphill and got an asthma attack. at the end of the 4th interval I was dead but my knee felt great. I ended up stopping after four intervals, not even because of my knee, because of my breathing. After a couple of minutes of slow jogging I had to stop so I could catch my breath. It was all I could do to just jog back to the car. I'll have to make my long run a bit longer to compensate for the mileage.

knee is actually feeling better. During climbing it was bothering me some but now a few hours later it feels pretty good. not sure whether to do my last run of the week tomorrow (with company) or take an off day tomorrow and run on sunday (alone.)

so lessons from this are to start slower- watch said that pickup paces were 7:16, 7:25, 7:48, and 8:06. no idea how accurate that is but I got way slower and not all of that can be explained by the uphill vs downhill. another lesson is to bring my inhaler with me.

this definitely scared me about workouts for the rest of the summer and in the fall. but it was just one workout, hopefully the next one will be better.

After the run we got breakfast and went climbing. I'm exhausted and sore. PT when I got home.
