after 8 hours at the airport last night, flight was cancelled, giving me one more opportunity to run in the beautiful DC weather. didn't get home till past 1 last night so we slept in and didn't get to run till 1:30ish. didn't have much time plus it was disgustingly hot so it ended up being shorter than I wanted. ran with my dad, so quite slow. Tomorrow will likely be off by necessity but there will be time on Saturday and Sunday to get longer runs in. probably not a bad thing because my knee was acting up a bit after yesterday's hills.

also ended up getting new shoes. I'd been planning to get a second pair to rotate after we got back. since all of our stuff, including my running shoes, are out at dulles still, I figured I may as well get them one run early and then leave them here and start using them regularly when I get back. I'm trying a new shoe I've never had before-the brooks ghosts. The guy at Georgetown Running was saying that maybe the stiffer arches on the kayanos are pushing me more to the outside. apparently I pronate while standing but not while running. he also called my stride efficient. My stride has been called a lot of things, but never before has it been called efficient.
