said a biker as he passed by me. "Sure is," I said as he zoomed up a hill I would soon be struggling up. I woke up at 9 and wasted so much time/procrastinated so that I didn't actually start the workout till 11. that was a mistake. workout was 3-4x3min uphill tempo with 90 second recovery. the only hill I could think of that would be long enough was ridge road so I drove to the bottom and ran from there. the steepest parts of the hill are all at the beginning. Ended up doing the worst of it twice because of the downhill recovery. only did 3 because of the heat. first interval was .37 and the other two were .35 (according to my very approximate mapping.) not very fast but I'm going to attribute that to the heat. it felt hard but not miserable. definitely could have gone a lot worse. after I finished the intervals, there weren't many things I wouldn't have done for some water. fortunately, I didn't have to do much--I found some at the horse stables. The good thing about this workout was that once I was done I was running entirely downhill for the rest of the way. Still, I was pretty happy when I got to the car. I was definitely drained for a couple hours after I got home. found this quite difficult to map so I don't know if this is accurate. pace comes out quite slow but I definitely shuffled on the recoveries so that might have cancelled out any speed from the intervals.
when I got home, stretch, crazy planks, assorted clams, single leg bridges, 2 sets of push up progression (3x) and more PT.
