first team practice

so I was terrified for this. the first day was a workout (why?!). we ran uphill to get to a hill and then did 4x2min uphill at 5k effort. then we ran back down and there was an optional tempo. this other freshman and I were going to go do it and we started to but then we joined up with another group and it turned out they were headed back so we just went with them. I had a bad cramp so I wasn't complaining. The coach told us to do only 5 min of tempo anyways. the hills were kinda tough but the intervals seemed to get easier, probably because the hill got less steep. I tried to stay behind Jesse, a super friendly sophomore. I was in the back pack but there were still a few people behind me, which was reassuring. Everyone on the team was really friendly and nice and the coaches seemed good too. It was a good first day and I'm looking forward to more practices after we get back from orientation trips.
